North of Etosha - King Nehale Conservancy

… named after King Nehale ya Mpingana whose warriors attacked Fort Namutoni in 1904.

The conservancy is situated directly on the northern border of the famous Etosha National Park and is easy accessible from Windhoek on the tar road. It was registered in 2005 and covers an area of about 43,000 hectares. The vast area is home to large herds of Springbok, of Plain Zebra, Blue Wildebeest and Oryx. Hyenas, Lions and Elephants are regular visitors in King Nehale and often become a problem when they collide with the humans, their Mahango fields or cattle. A plains game hunter will not seldom be offered to shoot one of those problem animals. Hunters that are prepared to arrive on short notice (within 3 days) can experience a big game hunt for an extremely low price, often going home with a great trophy.

The hunting area is ideal for return clients that have hunted on ranches in Namibia already and want to experience a concession hunt but don’t want to start with the Caprivi and a tented camp. For first time hunters in Namibia, we can recommend the area in combination with a ranch hunt and some tourism days at the end of the safari.

Clients hunting in communal conservancies in Namibia can be assured that a significant portion of their funds are being ploughed back into wildlife conservation efforts. These efforts are not only promoting the long-term welfare of Namibia’s wildlife, but also creating strong bonds between rural communities and the value they place on their wildlife resources.

Itinerary Example – Farm / King Nehale Combination Hunt:

12 Days on farm land (free roaming game) & in King Nehale concession area for one hunter with one Professional hunter. Including:

1 x Blue Wildebeest, 2 x Springbuck, 1 x Spotted Hyena, 1 x Black-Backed Jackal, 1 x Oryx, 1 x Warthog, 1 x Red Hartebeest, 1 x Steenbuck, 1 x Chacma Baboon

• Day 1: Arrival in Windhoek Int. Airport & Transfer to Windhoek Eros Airport (ca. 45 minutes’ drive). Flight to Ondangwa (1 hour). Pick-up and transfer (ca. 1 hour) to King Nehale Conservancy.
• Day 2 - 6: Sighting in the rifle in the morning. Hunt in King Nehale for Spotted Hyena & Plains Game - 5 full hunting days.
• Day 7: Early morning flight from Ondangwa to Windhoek. Transfer (ca. 1 hour) to the farm near Windhoek.
• Day 8 – 11: 4 full hunting days on the farm and surrounding farms
